Yep, there's more than one kind of 1.8" hdd. There's Hitachi-style,
Toshiba-style and one other (I think) that is no longer currently being
manufactured. iRiver iHP devices (and the original iPod, but not Mini or
Nano) use the Toshiba style, which has a thin rectangular form factor
(whereas Rio Karma, for example, uses the Hitachi 1.8" drives, which are
thicker but have a square form factor). Also, I believe there are two
different kinds of connectors available, on the Toshiba drives.
