Is there a strategy or are there tips to maximize runtime? I use the Ondio
in my fully-faired recumbent tricycle (aka velomobile) and it's quite cold
here in the moment, so runtime with 950 mAh NiMh is below 4 hours, which
means I have to recharge them daily (after 2 hours runtime).

Ich thought of possibilities to add an external power supply, but I'm not
sure how to do it yet.
