Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Buying a rockbox machineBuying a rockbox machine

Date: Sun, 12 Feb 2006 01:18:42 -0800 My birthday is coming up, and as a geek, I was interested in getting an ipod, and running ipod linux on it. According to the ipodlinux website, only ipods up to 3g are supported. So, I let my SO know that I wanted a 3g ipod. Time passes. She lets me know that she doesn't know where to find such a thing, and that I should find it for her, and she'd get it for me as a present. (Sometimes the 'surprise' factor isn't possible.. :-) In searching, I came across the RockBox project, and thought that it blew the ipodlinux project out of the water; I *wanted* one. So, looking at all the supported versions, it looks like the Archos Jukebox 20GB FM is the best. Golly, these things are hard to find! Why couldn't Archos just keep making them? Anyhoo, I'm hoping you could tell me where my SO could buy one in order to surprise me! :-) (And yes, this is how christmas works around our house as well.) We're a little reluctant to use EBay, due to the high levels of fraud there; is there anywhere else? Thanks! -- PF <kernel_at_pkts.ca>Received on 2006-02-12 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
