A good mid-range model is the iRiver
IHP-120 & IHP-140 models.
Either models come up on eBay quite often, and you may get one in the mid
250 dollar range.

Tough call. Rockbox works rock-solid on the Archos (even though it's old,
the software is quite recent). I bought an Archos Jukebox Recorder recently
and it works just wonderfully with Rockbox! I bought one recently on eBay
and I honestly haven't had one problem with it.

The Iriver H340 works very well apparently but you'll pay a FORTUNE getting
one and they're outdated anyway so I don't think there's much point.
However, if you're willing to wait a bit for "rock-solid" support you could
get an iPod Color or Nano. Those are in the works right now.
