You need to force reset your Iriver. There is a tiny 'pin switch'
between the microphone (perpendicular to the headphone port) and the
rough printing which feels rather like a raised up line. The hole is
almost impossible to feel, but if you take a pin, unwound paperclip,
etc. and move it along between that area, you will find it eventually.
Once you find the hole, push the tool you are using in gently but
firmly; you will feel a 'click' as it hits home. Then power it up as
normal and all should be fine.
