Hello listers,

I'm new to the list and am interested in the RockBox product. I think it's
great that so many are putting such an effort in this system and putting
together a system which blind individuals can use too.

I'm asking for recommendations on which is better for blind users on the
Iriver models. I was interested in the IPOD models, but do need something
with the recording feature available. If there is an IPOD model with
recording, I'd be interested in that one too. Obviously, I'm in the US so
recommendations would need to be towards which models are available in US.

I'd like to get a unit with 40GB (h140 or h340) but would be willing to
purchase one of the 20GB models due to cost constraints. So, which of the 2
series is best for navigation for blind users?

Also, could someone explain the reason why the US version of Iriver firmware
is not used on the flashing process? I know the DRM function is disabled
due to licensing issues and will have to try to work around the processes of
copying or converting these files to usable OGG or MP3 formats (anyone with
a blind friendly suggestion for this please email me off line).

Any info is greatly appreciated.
