Hello,
I am posting this here for a friend, who has an Archos Studio that may have
a problem, and maybe someone here would be interested in buying it from him,
and be able to fix it, if it does indeed need some repair.
His name is Tom, and he does not subscribe to the list since he cannot get
the RockBox site to recognize his Verison account.

This unit runs fine with charged double A batteries in place.
Power supply works fine.
When batteries are run down, and unit is put on the Archos power supply, it
doesn't charge, only tries to start with a shoom shoom sound from trying to
start.
The power supply tests fine with approximately 14 Volts DC with a VOM.
It doesn't want to start with dead batteries from the power supply.
But it does run from USB on the computer, as a drive, with dead batteries,
even without the power supply.
And again, with charged batteries, it works as it should.
