Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Car mode for Archos JBR V1Car mode for Archos JBR V1
From: <sfsprs-audio_at_yahoo.com>
Date: Mon, 3 Apr 2006 22:37:00 -0700 (PDT) I've got a new-to-me Archos Recorder V1, and I'm trying to get it set up for use in the car. I want it to turn on when it gets power on the charging jack, and turn off eventually when the power is gone. I've got a well regulated 12V adapter that can put out 6V, 7.5V, or 9V. From what I've been reading on this list, it sounds like there is no software way to avoid having it go into play mode from off when it gets power. From what I've been reading, all of the following have been tried without success to get it to play when it gets power: - flashing rockbox - using "car mode" in the menu - using special software builds that are hardcoded to go into play mode So the only way to get it to start up in play mode is to rewire it so that the car power goes into the battery terminals rather than the charging adapter. And if I did that I should send it 6V rather than the 9V charging voltage. Before I go ahead and rewire my V1, I just wanted to verify that this is the only way to go. Has anyone had actual (not just theoretical) success getting it to start up playing using any of the three soft methods above?
