Re: Need opinion about voicing for software codec targets

I'll jump in here to agree with Jamie. I like the way the music
fades to background while menu items are voiced. the basic concept
is great. I just need the bugs ironed out of it. I believe that
when music is not playing, the voice is often too loud. that is, if
I am playing through speakers (and even phones), if I stop the music
and return to the file browser, the voice seems markedly louder than
the music volume, so I find I am having to reduce the volume before
pressing stop to avoid getting blown away by the voice clips.

What Jamie says about the music needing to be faded slightly more
when voice clips are playing is a fair point too. Or, even better
would be to have the ability for the user to be able to set the
voice clip playback volume and the fade level when voice clips are
mixed with music to his/her taste. As 3.0 is frozen for new
features, I might look into doing this myself
for a post 3.0 release. Things are moving pretty fast right now
and I'm finding swcodec to have a pretty steep learning curve.

Cheers,
Andrew.
