Date: Thu, 4 May 2006 09:08:21 -0400 Rocker, I use the ER-6's with my Archos and I think they sound GREAT. Bass response is VERY dependent on proper fitment in your ears though. I find it takes me a while and a bit of fiddling to get 'em "just right", which really sucks when somebody wants to talk to you and you have to pull 'em out and start all over again (like the wife!). A few other things to be aware of: You CANNOT EAT while trying to listen to these. Period. Forget using them at lunchtime. Stick you fingers in your ears, make a tight seal, and chew something and you'll see what I mean. Also, any physical contact with the wires is instantly transferred right to your ears as "thudding" noise - can be very annoying. In a noisy environment like a bus or plane, where you need to eliminate external noise, AND you'll have 'em on for a while once you get 'em set in your ears the way you want 'em, AND no one will be trying to talk to you, AND you won't be eating... they're perfect. For everyday use I find them a bit problematic and tend to use my Koss Porta-pros most of the time. I've never tried the ER-4s, just too expensive.
