Hi, I was the person having the problem of rockbox not speaking although everything was installed correctly.
After getting a sighted help I understood my problem and fixed it.
Just for information to othe blind people, in the archives of this list there is a mail explaining step by step how to upgrade Iriver firmware without sighted assistance.
The writer of this mail had only good and assisting intensions, but made a mistake.
He mentioned that in "general" menu, you have to press 4 times down to reach "upgrade firmware".
This item is indeed the 4th in the list, but since you are already on the first item you actually need to press down 3 times and not 4.
The result of this was that I did a scandb instead, hahaha.
I hope this scandb does not cause any harm.
Now, I have rockbox speaking but anothe major problem.
I can't even give steps to reproduce it because it happens in various situation, but the result of it is that my player freezes, I can do nothing with it but reset.
Is this a known issue and is there any solution? it happens too many times a day in order to accept it as is.
I'm using rockbox daily build as of the first of may and iriver firmware 1.30.
Concerning iriver firmware, most of the people tell they are using 1.29 but I found 1.30 or 1.28.
Is 1.30 a problemati upgrade? if the suggested firmware is 1.29 where can I find it?
