Janie, I may be wrong here, but from what I experience with my player, the
usb issue has nothing to do with resume on startup.
Theter this is enabled or disabled, while the player is powered of if you
connect it to usb, the computer does not recognize it.
However, if you power on and connect the usb and then power off, the
computer continues to recognize the player.
