In fact I have (had) loose connectors and I tried to solder it
already but I am no expert at all soldering so I have no
idea of the quality of the result. :-(

I think I will have to open it up again to check and at the same
occasion I could give it a try putting the HD in a external
USB case to stress test it separately.
