Hi David,
The rec left/right gains refer to the analog gain, while the line in
decimator left/right gains refer to the digital gain. Both settings
affect the total gain, but when you change the gain from the recording
screen, the code manages the setting of these two types of gain
automatically, thus merging them into one total gain. Before this was
applied to the code, the decimator gain used to be set from the
recording settings menu by the ADC gain setting, which was renamed to
decimator gain because ADC is the incorrect term. :)
