Thus the distinction must be made. -----Original Message----- From: rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se [mailto:rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se] On Behalf Of Rocker Sent: Friday, May 26, 2006 4:46 PM To: Rockbox Subject: Re: Tts in rockbox However, A visually impaired person is legally blind. I live in the U.S. and this country is anally politically correct at times. -----Original Message----- From: rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se [mailto:rockbox-bounces_at_cool.haxx.se] On Behalf Of Bluechip Sent: Friday, May 26, 2006 11:12 AM To: Rockbox Subject: Re: Tts in rockbox >>...probably my smartest idea was to make a language called "blind" >>which would display the menu text as f'oh'net'ik spellings ...now that >>we have WAV/PCM playback on the Archos units (previously >>"IMPOSSIBLE") it really isn't going to be that difficult to write our >>TTS such that it works on all Rockbox units. > >I'm sure there are blind people in other countries too, so there would >be many languages called "blind". LOL ...yes, I realised that about 2 minutes after I hit 'Send' :) I suppose "english-blind", "german-blind" etc. is the solution. BC PS. I would like to say that in the UK "Blind" is considered "politically incorrect" but I notice blind people referring to themselves as such ...so if "swedish-fonetik" or "french-people_of_limited_sight_ability" is more appropriate, that is what I mean ;) Received on 2006-05-27 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
