Date: Sun, 28 May 2006 08:58:04 +0100 I need to ad. I can boot by holding down play and record? The button to the far right of the play button. I really don't have sighted help just when I need it. I'm following these instructions toupload the firmware, please are these the right key sequences? "1. Copy your firmware to the root of your Iriver's hard disk. Disconnect the Iriver. Turn it on, and then hold down the selector, the middle of what I call the joystick for about a second. This gets you into Iriver's own menu system. The menu option you want is General, which happens to be the first option. So press the middle of the joystick again briefly to get you into General. Once in General, arrow down three times, to upgrade firmware, and select it by pressing briefly in the middle of the joystick. You will now be asked visually if you are sure you want to upgrade the firmware, no is the default, so press left once for yes, then press the middle of the joystick briefly. You are now updating your firmware. Do not, I repeat, not, press any buttons on your Iriver at this point. Wait for it to power down, and you are done. I hit the middle button 1 second after I hear the hard drive spin... This really isn't that hard, I know but nothing I'm doing is working. I can get it to show in Windows, and have trye dformatting but it's still the same! OK, please please please please! Coudl soem kind soul. 1. Tell me how I get out of this? 2. Provide a link for the bootloader I should use for my Iriver h340 3. Provide a link for the RB version I shoudl place on the drive. 4. If I can't just use any voice file in the Voice Files section of the site a link to the speech file I should use. The one I had on the unit was, english_Reed_fast_cvs Does this sound like it's recoverable? I hope I haven't just thrown £177 down the drain..... If I need to know what version whtiher it's EU or US I'm using before anyone can assist can you please tell me if there's anyway other than looking at or readigna label on the unit I coudl tell. The unit came with what looks like a US plug and then has a UK adaptor attached to that. But I'm not sure if in Europe you guys use a two or three prong plug... Panicking!
