As a technicality, the gain option was never in the menu. The setting
that was in the menu related to the decimator gain only; the analog gain
could never be controlled from the recording screen. Once the decimator
and analog gains were merged, the option in the menu was no longer
required. That said, it would be nice to be able to set the gain from
the menus so that speech can occur.
