Subject: Need USB driver boot disk to format 80GB drive for Archos

I need to format the new 80gb drive that I have just installed in my
Archos JBR V1. From reading various web articles and experimenting, it
has become clear that Windows XP does not format drives bigger than
32GB in the FAT32 filesystem needed for the Archos. Since I don't want
to buy third party formatting/partitioning software, It seems that the
only way to get this thing formatted is to use Win98 to format it,
because Win98 doesn't have the 32GB limitation on formatting FAT32.
That limitation was apparently introduced in XP because FAT32 disks
larger than 32GB are not as efficient and microsoft wanted to keep
people from doing inefficient things.

Anyway, I don't have a Win98 machine around, so I'm trying to use a
Win98 boot disk. If I had a cable to install the 2.5" drive inside my
desktop PC for formatting, this would probably be a piece of cake. But
again, I'm trying to be cheap and not buy that cable. So I'm trying to
figure out how to format the drive mounted in the Archos JBRV1, over
USB.

This requires creating a Win98 boot disk with USB drivers. I've found
the following page that gives lots of tips for doing this:

http://www.bootdisk.com/usb.htm

But after trying a few of the methods there I haven't found one that
works for me. Through this process I'm learning about config.sys files
but since I don't really understand them, I'm thinking I may just be
doing something wrong with my config.sys files. When I was using the
DUSE drivers I was getting out of memory errors.

So my question is whether anyone has been successful at making and
using a Win98 boot disk with USB drivers, and if so is there a
relatively cookie-cutter tutorial on this that I've missed so far?
