Does Rockbox on the iriver have the same kind of functionality and customization capabilities as on the AJR? I used to have an iriver ihp-120(before Rockbox) and the user interface was horrible. Had to look stuff up in the manual all the time. Wish it had Rockbox then. I have been looking at the irivers. Can Rockbox be flashed to it? And have you had any dealings with their customer service? Usenet is full of iriver customer service horror stories. I like the Gmini 220 - it's a very neat device but it can't run rockbox and that's half the fun with owning an mp3 player (for me anyway). It's not easy to swap the HD in an FMR - some soldering needs doing but the drives are fairly cheap. I don't know about the Gmini though I expect it takes a 1.8inch drive. If you want easy HD replacement and Rockbox functionality I would go for the early Archos Recorder - if you can find one. Saying that, I've just bought an iriver H320 as I found one (fairly) cheap on ebay (I still own an FMR but the headphone socket is broken). This is an ace device and it runs rockbox. The only problem is the battery time is only 9 hours (it was 19 on my archos) -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
