Hi Jim and everybody else on the list,

Jim, from what you say, I would suggest either the iRiver H140 or
H340 models, or the iAudio X5. All three have more than 20 GB of
storage space. I am not too familiar with the iAudio unit myself,
so maybe somebody else could say more about the stability on this
one.

I am personally using a couple of iRiver H140 units. I know that
you are not looking for discontinued or out-of-date models, and it
could really be discussed whether these iRiver units are
discontinued or not. They were, but iRiver produced a new series
of the H1xx and H3xx units some months ago, and they can currently
be bought brand new from several places. Imho these units are
some of the best working ones with Rockbox, except from the
out-of-date Archos units.

From my position, I would recommend the iRiver H140 (or, if you
like, the somewhat more expensive H340). To start where you
finished off your audio book, you could either use the "resume
playback on startup" function or a bookmark.

HTH,

Tore Johnny
