Nothing that was changed today should have affected this, although previously the AAC codec and voice file may have been "sharing" the same memory (i.e. potentially corrupting the voice file), maybe that had a positive side-effect somehow...? Note that older versions of Rockbox (before August 1st) didn't allow playing back .talk clips during audio playback, so since then the chance of 2 codecs (AAC for audio, MP3 for .talk clips and voice) being used together has increased somewhat, which will undoubtedly use more CPU. Perhaps there needs to be an option to disable this behaviour, or the voice codec needs to give up if there's not enough CPU. Or maybe something is up with the IRAM handling? I'm not familiar with the IPod at all, but I'll ask around and see if I can work it out. Ever since you sent me your example AAC file, I have always found that it plays back skippily on my IRiver H340 (with voice enabled). I assumed this was "normal" as the AAC codec is not optimised yet... being an MP3/OGG user (both of which are fine). Please can you try yesterday's daily build - http://download.rockbox.org/daily/ipodnano/rockbox-ipodnano-20060823.zip but leave everything else the same (e.g. voice file, settings) and see if that improves matters or not?
