If I charge it, I can use it for at least eight hours, but if I leave it turned off for more then a day, the batteries die. This has GOT to be an old-battery problem. Rechargeable batteries have a lifetime. When I had this problem (and several werid 'I thought it was Rockbox' problems (such as *weird* skipping errors) - but I was wrong) I did faaar too much research and eventually bought some "Energiser 2500 mAh" batteries from Dixons (a UK high street store) ...They are FANTASTIC batteries - and what's more, I have read innumerous similar good reviews SINCE my purchase. I think I paid £20 for them, that got me 4 batteries and a charger which had a mains AND car charger fitting (My gf had the charger for her camera) ...the charger has also rated "very well" in charger reviews, but in fairness a "great" charger is a VERY expensive seperate purchase.
