Yes you need the boot loader.
That has to be copied in to the firmware directory on the x5.
I love the x5 and rock box works gfreat on it with speech.

  Hi,

I was really interested in a post earlier this week that said the Iaudio x5 works really well with speech.

I've used the Arcos 20gb jukebox for the past couple of years.

As I recall from a blindness perspective it was quite easy to install rb on to that machine.
Having looked at the manual do I take it I would have to do the following.

I can ignore the bootloader as the manual says this is for developers only so I can just install rb straight to the Iaudio?
Then install the English voice to the langs folder.
For running voice clips for speaking of file and folder names, will the Lame program voicebox.wsf that I use on my Arcos work on the Iaudio?

Any help would be much appreciated.

  Regards
