Date: Sun, 29 Oct 2006 16:39:20 -1000 Hi Hamish, If you have either iTunes or the June 28 iPod updater on your system, you can use it to determine the version of your Nano. If you plug in one running the older firmware, the updater should pop up automatically and ask if you want to update it, so if it doesn't pop up, odds are good it's running the latest firmware. If you don't have the updater, you have to use iTunes 7 or get someone to send it to you because Apple isn't offering it for download from their site. My guess is that if you plug the iPod in while iTunes is open, you'll be prompted to update it if it's running the older firmware.
