In the last few days I installed Rockbox twice on my 60g 5th generation iPod.
now using different daily downloads , the latest being this morning 20061116.
Both times I get many audio dropouts playing the same lame encoded using vbr
extreme setting. The files play flawlessly with the original Apple firmware.
I tried various settings, and finally using the reset feature. I tried using
the mp3 as the were placed on the iPod using gtkpod as well as coping a
direct with several .mp3 files in it to the iPod. Regardless of what I did I
still got the audio dropouts. This morning I also got the "data abort at
00030E30" message. I switched back to the Apple firmware and plan on trying
Rockbox again later this week, but wanted to check to see if anyone has seen
this and can tell me if it is a problem with my installations or something
else.
