The jack is floating loose inside, and there is a PCB above (the one with the buttons and display), below (sits flush with the rails which holds the hard drive) and at the end (the one holding the USB, Line in). The player does not have this PCB below. ----- Original Message ----- From: Neon John <jgd_at_johngsbbq.com> To: Rockbox <rockbox_at_cool.haxx.se> Sent: Monday, November 27, 2006 0:13:37 AM GMT-0500 US/Eastern Subject: Re: Disassembly question The jack solders on the outside of the board. No disassembly of the PCBs is necessary. John On Sun, 26 Nov 2006 20:46:12 -0500 (EST), Bradley Alexander <storm_at_tux.org> wrote: >Got a question for the assembled Archos wisdom here. I have a Recorder 20, and the jack the charger plugs into came loose and is currently floating around inside. I have disassembled the unit, but am trying to figure out the best way to get inside there to resolder the jack. Initially, it looked like I could loosen the two solder joints to the battery rail and remove the printed circuit board on the end of the unit to get in there...However, I melted that solder, but the pcb did not come loose. > >Has anyone a suggestion on how to get in there and reconnect that jack? > >Thanks, >--b --- John De Armond See my website for my current email address http://www.neon-john.com Cleveland, Occupied TN Don't let your schooling interfere with your education-Mark TwainReceived on 2006-11-27 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
