Hi Daniel,
It sounds like you've installed the bootloader. Next you need to
install Rockbox itself. Download the latest daily build and a recent
voice file, unzip the daily build to your iPod, rename the voice file
to english.voice, and put it in .rockbox.langs. Then hold down the
top and center buttons. You should hear some clicks. A little while
after that, press the top button to go into the menu, which should speak.
