The 80 GB iPod is indeed the 5.5 gen iPod Video that developers are working on, but Rockbox doesn't yet work on. As for playing live albums, the 5.5 gen iPod Video supports "gapless playback" when using the Apple firmware, so live albums should sound good. Rockbox can't play protected content, including tracks purchased at the iTunes store, but it supports gapless playback for MP3s. There are small gaps with AAC files, but not too bad. But if you want to play a lot of iTunes music, you'll have to play it using the Apple firmware. You could switch to Rockbox for playing the CDs you imported yourself, though.
