Now that it's morning, I'll answer a few more of your questions. By

These are folders created by the Apple firmware. You could store
text files in Notes and sync with Outlook to read contacts and
calendar, but these features aren't accessible.

Yes it is. So are the choices when you press the Select button.

The FM transmitter should work fine with RB running. I don't know
whether the battery will charge, though.
