Subject: voice file and recording lockup question

voice file and recording lockup question

Good morning fellow RB users,

Yesterday I finally decided to update to the latest build of Rockbox again.
I updated my voice file to see if RB still locked up after I made a
recording, and unfortunately it does. I have heard that with some voice
files, E.G. the IBM TTS voices created by ArnaudDeBonald, RB exits the
recording screen successfully. So far I have tried changing the sample rate
of the voice file along with the VBR method used, but all resulting voices
still crash. What kinds of voice files must we use to access the recording
screen without a crash?

For reference, I am using the latest MakeVoices script with the following
lines uncommented

MakeVoiceFileSAPI4 "english", "Reed", 200, "-V 6 --resample 16 --vbr-new -t
-S ' Line 76

oTTS.Speed = 440 ' Line 278

As always, I appreciate any enlightenment on the subject.

All my best,

Steve
