I just looked it up with my player, "Nee" and "Ja" are the selections
with the language set to netherlands (the menu is called "Spraak
menus"). Set the language to english (or get a netherlands voice file
;-)
Btw, an easy way to figure this out would be to simply export your
settings to a cfg file. You can then change everything there and load
that file.

The iriver firmware has nothing to do with Rockbox except the fact it
is needed to get flashed once for the Rockbox bootloader. So flashing
the iriver firmware again won't help in your case, no need to try
that.

No idea what happens with the iriver firmware but that's not a Rockbox
issue. As your player has a working bootloader your issue is purely
Rockbox.
