Rockbox mail archiveSubject: Playback Speed/PitchPlayback Speed/Pitch

Date: Fri, 5 Jan 2007 18:08:35 -0500 Rockboxers, Sorry if it's an FAQ but it only seems to have a topic for discussion a year ago. Is there any way to increase playback speed (without changing pitch) by more than 2%? If not, is it a hardware limitation? Of course, we can increase playback speed to 200% (changing pitch by an octave at the same time) but the chipmunk effect is kind of annoying. One reason playback speed may be important is that it makes listening to podcasts and audiobooks a completely different experience. If it weren't for the 2% limitation, it'd be easy to sell Rockbox devices as the ideal podcast-listening tool (what with bookmarking, etc.). In fact, speed listening can have more positive effects than you might think: http://tech2.nytimes.com/mem/technology/techreview.html?_r=1&res=9A07E3D6163CF931A35753C1A9659C8B63 (Using a mid-December Rockbox build on an iRiver H120.) -- Alexandre http://enkerli.wordpress.com/Received on 2007-01-06 Page template was last modified "Tue Sep 7 00:00:02 2021" The Rockbox Crew -- Privacy Policy |
