Subject: Persistent settings

Persistent settings

Hi all,

Here's my understanding of this feature.

Writing a line like:
~volume -30
would give you some assurance that your volume would *always* be a
reasonable value upon booting up the player (i.e. if I connected my player
to my stereo and cranked the volume way up, I wouldn't even have to remember
to turn it down to save my ears from agony). :-

Well, this was a splendid feature! Why was it removed? Thanks.
