Topic: ipod g5 30gb locked to 8gb

Hi community

I did my homework: looked on the Forums, googled around & posted on the forum
as well.
Nope, nothing:

My wife mistakenly started the ipod soft lately (we do not use it, we do not
have windoze or itune, only Linux boxes)

the outcome is that it somehow "locked" the available space on the disk for
rockbox to its current status of 8 used Gb. If I delete a file, I can write
again another, but only in the scope of these 8-some Gb.

As an external drive, it shows currently 400-some MB available (I freed some
space for testing) out of 27-some

As useage, it shows 8-some GB. (Sure I only uploaded 8Gb to this machine,
brand new from past week).

I point out the accidental start & reboot of the apple soft because it's the
only uncomon event that happened since I last uploaded file to it.

Built 2007-01-25, works otherwise. Tested under UBUNTU 6.06 & SuSE 10.2.

Any idea ?

In rockbox properties on the iPod, it shows the same.
