Well with the iriver plugged in at least for me it boots but it loads
the iriver firmware.

I had the same problems when I first installed it and was so frustrated
but what I did was reset the rockbox by hitting the power button and
then hit the button above the a b button. You need to hold that button
down while it boots up and that should fix the problem. Hope that helps.

Hello list,

I got my Iriver H340 to talk when I first turned it on after installing
the build. I went through the menus and changed voice settings so
directories and filenames were spelled. I then turned the player off.

When I turned it on again, it wouldn't talk. My wife tells me that the
voice menus are on and that directory and filename are set to spell.
But it won't talk! The only way I can make it talk again is to remove
the build from the drive and reinstall it; and when I turn the player
off after setting menu options, the player is silent the next time I
turn it on.

I also notice that if the player is off and plugged into the power
adaptor, it is impossible to turn it on. Something does happen but the
drive does not spin up.
