Subject: Jukebox 6000 has no access to Main Menu

Jukebox 6000 has no access to Main Menu

I bought a Jukebox 6000 when it first came out years ago but
hardly used it with the poor stock firmware. Then I stumbled upon
Rockbox and for three years I've been using it everyday in my car.
It works great with car adapter mode.

A couple of times during that period, the JB6000 would seem to
become corrupted and not enter the Main Menu when I pressed the
menu button. I was never sure what caused that, but I presumed
it was some .cfg file corruption, and I got things back to normal
by overwriting the .rockbox directory with a fresh install.

Recently, the unit was acting weird, and the 40GB disk I had been
using was dying. I replaced it with a newer 30GB disk, freshly
low level formatted, zeroed, and certified. The player plays music
fine, but it's back to being stuck without the Main Menu and I
can't get it back to normal. I've reinstalled .rockbox several
times without effect, both the 2.5 release and the latest build.

When I press the Menu button on my Jukebox 6000, here are the menu
items I get:

    Volume
    Sound
    Play Mode
    Language
    Hard Disk
    Diagnose
    Firmware
    External
    Contrast

I can't figure out what menu this is, but it sure isn't the normal
Main Menu. Searching the archives of the forums doesn't give me
any ideas. The unit plays music fine. I just want to set it back
to Resume on startup and Car Adapter Mode, and then I can relax.

Does anyone know what might be happening with my Jukebox 6000?

Thanks a lot! I really appreciate your help.

Lester
