No, it was not a good idea. It corrupted my Ipod. I ended up installing
the latest version of Itunes and restoreing the player. rockbox is
installed and running great!

Thanks

Okay,
I have the IPod 60 GB player. What do I need to do to update my
Bootloader and my Rockbox? What are the major changes/bugs? The safest
is to go with the daily build, right? Can you send me the links to the
web pages that provide this info?

No, the bootloader has been changed several times since then.
Also, the Rockbox Team switched over to SVN back in Janurary, but the
idea is the same.

where can you find the latest changes to the CSV and Daily builds for

Hi,
Okay, if I under stand, just download either a CSV or a Daily build, a
new voice and font file, unzip to Ipod, and say yes to replace, right?
Is there a way to see what has been replaced or fixed before we download
the releases?

Check the changelog from the front page: http://www.rockbox.org to see
what's new.
And as long as Rockbox is already in your iPod, it should be as simple as
just over-
writing the old bootloader and /.rockbox folder with the new ones. I used
that trick and
it worked just fine.

Hi,
I can't imagine that formatting the iPod with Windows Explorer would be a good idea. I would try this:
With the iPod connected, use your mouse cursor to click on Settings.
There should be a Restore button on the page; click it with the mouse cursor.
That should do the trick, I think.
Cheers,
Anna

I know you can bookmark audible files. I have an ipod and don't have any
softwear like Itunes, or anapod to get audible files on to my ipod, so is
there another file type that I can convert my audible books in to that will
also allow me to create book marks when listening to them on my Ipod
Shuffle?

Mr Pop Eye,
What on earth does this question have to do with the message you replied
to? (which was about repairing an Archos Jukebox)
Don't reply to a totally irrelevant mail, create a new one.
http://www.rockbox.org/mail/etiquette.html
To answer your question, MP3 is as good as any format. However, Rockbox
does not run on the Shuffle, so I don't really know why you ask this
question on the Rockbox mailing list.

You could try RS, they have it in their online shop, but it's
(temporarily) out of stock right now.

Another possibility would be ask the manufacturer for a sample.

Hi Andreas,
Thanks - I've placed a back-order with RS, but when I phoned them to check
on availability they weren't certain if they would be able to get it. They
do appear to have them in Hong Kong, but they won't ship internationally
from there.
I tried to order a sample from NXP, but they only deal with registered
partners. I've tried some of their UK distributors, but no response yet.

I have an old iMP-550. I believe the UDA1380TT is on the iMP-550. I live in
the Netherlands. The player is still working, but skips after being on for an
hour or so. I am willing to sell it to you for a reasonable price. I am
keeping the remote though...
