hi all,

I'm a little confused by ID3 versions, and what is displayed in WPS, and
used by Database...

As an example, I have an MP3 file, which has been tagged. Looking at the
"Year", I can see various things in the file:

        ID3 v1.1:
                year: None
        ID3 v2.4:
                year: 1955
        ID3 Frames:
                <Recording time (TDRC): 1995>
                <Release time (TDRL): 1955>

When I play the file, my WPS displays "1995" as the year, where I am
(wrongly?) expecting to see 1955. (The album is a 1995 re-release of a
1955 concert recording)

The WPS src shows (for this line of the WPS):

        %s%ac%?id<%id%?iy< (%iy)>|%d1>

The only place that "1995" is stored is in the TDRC frame, and the ID3
v2.4 Year is set to "1955", so why is WPS %iy showing "1995"?

flummoxed :(
