Can anyone suggest the most recent, relatively bug-free, stable build for
the Iriver H120, which seems the same as the H140? I would like to go back
to that build. The locked up spinning drive is really a nasty one. Thanks.

There is no official stable build for any platform other than the Archos
players. As for your drive locking up, I haven't seen that issue on my H120
and I use it all the time throughout the day. Have you checked your disk for
errors? If not, here's a quick way to do it:
1. From the start menu's run dialog, open a command prompt with cmd.
2. Run the following command from within the window:
Chkdsk e: /f
Substitute "e:" with your Iriver's drive designation. The /f switch tells
checkdisk that you want it to automatically fix any errors it finds on the
drive. The program will probably ask about unmounting existing volume
handles; go ahead and press Y so it can scan your disk. Depending on the
amount of content on your player, this can take from five to thirty minutes.
Best to plug in the AC to be on the safe side.

My best,
Steve
