Date: Mon, 21 May 2007 10:56:48 -0700 (PDT) Honestly, I Don't know Jack Squat about the X5 However, I do Know about Recording with Rockbox, and this is my answer to your question: The Recording Function of Rockbox is FAR from complete. It Hardly Records, and it's pretty buggy. (Don't bother with other Mics. That "very Faint" signal you got is the best your gonna get. Consider yourself lucky, though. Recording froze my ipod once) Brandon Hicks <hicks.brandon2_at_gmail.com> wrote: Hi, Is there any way to use the X5 line in jack as an external stereo mic jack without having to do massive volume increases and noise reductions on the recording? I'm trying it with a pair of unpowered stereo mics, and I do get a signal but it's very very faint. What I'm saying here, is that You basically can't record on Rockbox, or you shouldn't depend on it. I appreciate you asking my opinion (people asking ME for help. Who woulda Thought!?), but unfortunatly, a better mic most likely won't help. -ZPC Brandon Hicks Email: hicks.brandon 2 at gmail dot com MSN messenger: hicks.brandon2_at_gmail.com lj: http://seether12.livejournal.com skype: reyuth SIP: 827802_at_fwd.pulver.com My show on http://kool360.com runs Wednesdays from 7 to 11 pm eastern. --------------------------------- Ready for the edge of your seat?
