Hmm, that would be possible, but I think speech is the way to go for that!!

I'm only talking about a faster responding beep or click when a key is
pressed and using that instead of (or in addition to) the current beep when
skipping tracks. As I see it, this beep is there to acknowledge that you
have pressed a key so you don't end up double-skipping. But it's not always
very responsive although I doubt that can be improved much.

In additions, there are already beeps involved in recording, which and I'm
NOT involving here; if they are somehow lacking then feel free to put a
feature request on Flyspray.

Note also that it's not currently possible to produce any audio output when
in pause mode (at the moment, AFAIK).
