Both the players are supported if the ipod is a mini and yes the info
is on the website. I think the only 6 gb ipod is the mini. I may be
wrong but have a look at
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61688
And find out what player it is.
Then go to
rockbox.org
And see if the player is supported.
The list of supported models can be found on the home page.
