Hi Nobby, Sorry for the vague response. As per the iPod wiki page at http://www.rockbox.org: >>Works as of 23 May 2007. More work on optimising the disk writing code is needed. The iPod video 80GB was just given support about a month ago. Disk access is still a bit slow, and needs to be cleaned up further. Ergo, while Rockbox itself works great on the iPod video 80GB, the hard disk performance with it is not at the level people want it to be. Even though this page is not obsolete, it can at least explain (to an extent) why the 80GB iPod video support was so late in coming: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/IpodEightyGB Hope this helps.
