Configing songs, was - Re: Battery Life on gigabeat!!

I actually use itunes to put software on the Gigabeat. I have my "iTunes music folder location" set to the Gigabeat drive's folder. And I use iTunes to mange folder structure. Then I add files to iTunes, and it puts them on the Gigabeat in the correct folder, and I can easily correct name/artist/album and it all happens fine behind the scenes.

I kinda hate to admit I actually like iTunes, and don't have an iPod. I feel like I am beating the system by using Apple's software, but not giving them any $$$!

Today when getting in my car to go to work, I started it up and heard David Bowie's "Changes" on the radio, then it finished and went to another song, and I had to look down and it was coming from my Gigabeat. This was at about 12:00 noon, and it had been playing continously through the night and day since last night at 11:00pm!! I left it running and it was still running at 1:00pm when I plugged it into my PC's USB port to charge. So 14+ hours and it was still running. It played over 200 songs, a mix of mp3 and m4a. I think I have it set to light the screen for 5seconds before and after song changes, so the screen was on for about 40 minutes total. I think the spec is 16hours on the battery, so Rockbox didn't do any harm!

    Hello,

Any idea how long it would play on an ipod video? My guess is five plus hours?

thanks- just asking because I may be going on a road trip. Would it be better for me to buy a lighter adapter for it? I've heard the batterylife isn't as good with rockbox as it is with stock firmware; but, I like being able to just plug the unit into my pc, transfer the songs, no fuss, no muss- unlike itunes. Is this true? thanks

    - Tyler
