I wasn't comparing it to the reading of the message in it's entirety. I
think I've been pretty clear in stating that I whole heartedly agree
with the trimming of messages down to just the points you're referring
to. However, as a blind user, even a few lines at the top of an email,
when going through hundreds of emails a day, can get pretty tedious. I
assume that a sighted user, assuming the messages are small enough, can
see everything on one screen and pretty quickly scan past the quoted
text. I'm not complaining, but as a blind user, I have to either year
all of the text quoted above read out loud to me, or I have to use the
arrow keys to skip past it. Oh well, I just wanted to point out that I
wasn't being silly, at least not in my own mind.
