Encoded by libFLAC 1.1.2, > bitrate is 728 kbps, max frame size is 3321 bytes, no seek table... It appears this was due to something else. I deleted the file and copied it back to the device, and now it works! It's a brand new device so I think drive corruption is unlikely. Whatever it was it apparently isn't a codec problem.
