I feel this mapping is quite beneficial on its own. For one, "Power" is
used as a cancel button in many screens, and I feel it makes sense then
that it's stop. Holding Play/Pause makes very little, or even no, sense
for being "Stop" and is only really this way on targets where we didn't
have a button that can be used.

As well, moving the context menu onto the central button, and the main
menu onto the "Down" button means the finger needs to move much less
during normal navigation, and is beneficial as well to some left handed
users who may have to reposition their hand to comfortably reach the
Power button and access the main menu. I chose a mapping similar to
other targets because it conveniently addresses these problems.
Basically, I think there are a few, relatively small, shortcomings with
the existing map. But even then, assuming both maps are equal with
exception to preferences of individual users, why NOT pick one that's
more like other targets, if they're equal on all other grounds? (And I
would argue that this new map is superior, but I know others feel the
same way, and both are cases of preference since apparently problems for
left-handers are exclusive to me and not other left-handers in the
group.)
