Subject: Re: need my ipod 30 gig video to talk again

Hello it is me again ok here is what I just did
I went to the blind users part of rockbox.org
went to the voice files
got the latest version of rockbox ipod video.zip
installed that along with the ipodvideo voice for 1130 just below the latest version of rockbox.
I hit the top menu along with the select button and waited till it rebooted in to rockbox nothing I hear the sounds throught the headsets but no voice
I was wondering if I can get in to the settings throught the computer? to maybe try and see if the voice somehow got disabled durring the upgrade?
I know the manual says something about that.
I do appreciate the help and thank you all
take care
Sal
  ** Hi again Sal,
You should get the default settings by turning on the "hold" button on start-up.
And yes, you can indeed configure the Rockbox settings by editing your Rockboxes .cfg file.
Look at the following page for help with this:
  http://download.rockbox.org/manual/rockbox-ipodvideo/rockbox-buildch10.html
  HTH.

yes ana, I did do that and I dod not get any voice at all.
I have triedinstalling several different builds for the 30 gig video and still get no voice.
I did get the ipod to make that sound again when you boot it in to rockbox but my voice is the problem now.
  thanks for the reply.

    ** Hi Sal,
Did you also download the proper voice for the date of Rockbox that you put in?
For every build you copy in, you need to get the voice for that build.
    HTH.

    Hi Sal,

did you reset after installing Rockbox? You hold down Menu and Select (the top and center buttons) to reset.

    Cheers,
    Anna
