Date: Wed, 9 Jan 2008 05:17:59 -0000 Hi list. I've got a question for anyone living in the UK. I have an external hd which worked fine til a few weeks ago. However now when i connect it to my laptop the drives spin up no problem but windows does not recognise the device. I don't even get the sound to say the drive is connected. I'm hoping to god that its just the caddy that has developed a fault and not the drives inside. I have tried changing the USB cable with no luck, and the USB port works fine as other devices connect to it fine. Anyway my question is does anyone have any thoughts about a way I could find out what the problem is? If not can anyone in the UK recommend a good place I can take the drive to be tested to see what the problem is? Thanks for any help. Alex.
