There is no such option on the Ipod. The Ipod charges as soon as you
plug it into USB.

There *is* that option on the iPod, under Settings/General
Settings/System/Battery/Charge During USB Connection but the iPod
reboots into Apple OS disk-mode (or whatever the official name is), this
has no effect.
Once the native USB mode is fully functional then this setting will have
a use.
